Ballin’ On The Bay Breaks Record In Mobile

Mobile Sports Authority (MSA) Executive Director Danny Corte announced at a recent Mobile City Council meeting that a youth basketball tournament set local records last weekend. The 2021 Ballin’ on the Bay tournament at the Mobile Convention Center featured 97 basketball teams. Of those, 67 came from out of town, including many from outside Alabama. Preliminary numbers indicate that the tournament brought roughly 3,000 visitors to Mobile. According to MSA, this was the largest basketball tournament ever held in our area. This is “another good sign that sports — and particularly youth sports — are continuing to surge as we come out of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said.
