Campground Being Built At Gulf State Park

With a planned opening in the first half of 2026, the new Gulf State Park Campground in Gulf Shores will be built in two phases on the park’s former golf course. A new entrance will provide convenient access to the campground from State Road 180 (Canal Road) near the new Beach Express bridge in Gulf Shores. The first phase will consist of 100 campsites with approximately 100 more planned for phase two. The new Executive Campground will cover approximately 200 acres and will have its own amenities, as well as easy access to the rest of the park. Called the “Executive Campground,” it will offer more space between sites. Additional features of the $24-million project will include a large pool, a splash pad, a pickleball court, a putting green, an activities center with public restrooms, washers, dryers, an event space and recreation space. Many features of the park are recently remodeled or updated, including the Gulf State Park Pier; Beach Pavilion; Romar Beach Access and The Lodge, where another pool is being added to accommodate demand.
