City To Host Walkthrough Sessions Of Azalea City Golf Course

The City of Mobile is working to improve Azalea City Golf Course and has hired Richard Mandell Golf Architecture to provide a renovation business plan and report for the course, Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis announced. Part of that contract includes a series of walkthrough evaluations of the course that Mandell has planned for staff members and golf groups. Stakeholders and golfers interested in taking part will help provide feedback on playability, design and more. Those interested can sign up for one of three sessions taking place on October 8 and October 9. In addition to the course walkthroughs, Mandell will address and evaluate all current documents and previous upgrades to the course. He will review and observe maintenance practices, drainage, environmental concerns and other aspects of the course. Mandell will also provide a final plan and report that could lead to potential renovation of the course. This is part of the city’s larger effort to improve its parks and infrastructure.
