Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground Accepting Online Reservations

Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground began accepting reservations for its RV campground on August 1, Commissioner Connie Hudson announced in her District 2 Newsletter. Located at the Alabama/Mississippi state line, the 32-RV campsite will see its first campers on August 14. Improvement Phase 1A of the park included the campsite and infrastructure work like water/sewer; roads and parking lots; a day-use area with beach access, restrooms and parking; eight picnic pavilions; and walking trails. The campground has a restroom/shower/laundry facility. Phase 1B of construction should begin in fall 2023 and includes a café, general store, blackwater river system interpretive center and playground. The Mobile County Commission recently approved purchasing an additional 29 acres adjacent to the park. Once that purchase is complete, the park’s area will be approximately 230 acres. Phase 2 of construction is being planned, and future amenities are expected to include rentable cabins, a few novelty treehouses, a small conference center, a disc golf course, more river beach access, rentals for tubing or paddling, and more walking and biking trails.
