Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground In Soft-Open Phase

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — Beginning today, Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as part of its soft opening. Admission fees will be waived while the park remains under construction and open only for limited day use. The campground was temporarily closed in April 2021 for major construction and renovation. Phase 1A of construction is now substantially complete and includes roads, parking, utilities, restrooms, pavilions, river access, walking trails and an RV campground. The approximately 200-acre park remains under construction. Work begins later this fall on Phase 1B, composed of a welcome center with café and general store, a Black Water River System interpretive center and other amenities. Phase II is currently in design and planning.
