Fishing Tournament To Benefit United Way

MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile’s Phins Apparel will host the Inaugural Phins Fishing Classic (PFC) in eight Southern states to benefit more than 240 United Ways. Locally, the United Way of Southwest Alabama will benefit from the anglers fishing in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile and Washington counties. The PFC, powered by the Fishing Chaos app (in which tickets may be purchased), will be held remotely across an eight-state region for the first time. PFC will allow anglers in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas to fish in this event for a guaranteed $10,000 worth in prizes and to ultimately benefit their local United Ways. The catch-photo-release tournament will be open during April 9-May 1. Anglers will submit photos of their fish for professional judging via the app, and proceeds will be divided among the United Ways based on angler participation from their community.
