Grandman Triathlon Registration Open

Registration for the Grandman Triathlon, taking place at the Fairhope Pier on May 20, is open. The annual race is a short-distance “sprint” race of 1/3 mi. of swimming, 18.6 mi. of biking and 3.1 mi. of running. Nonprofit beneficiary of the event Mobile Baykeeper says this “makes it a great option for beginners and seasoned triathletes.” Participants may also race as a relay team with two or three members. Registration is currently $85 for individuals and $150 for teams, but prices will increase after March 31. Bill Burke from Premier Event Management, the same company that hosts Escape from Alcatraz and the New York City Triathlon, will put on the race this year. Those who wish to volunteer may sign up here.
