Gulf State Park Kicks Off Venture Out

Gulf State Park is holding its inaugural Venture Out event on May 15-17. The festival will feature a variety of nature and outdoor-focused activities, workshops and tours throughout the park and along the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail. This family-friendly event is a collaboration between Gulf State Park, the Gulf Coast Center for Ecotourism & Sustainability, Valor Hospitality, the City of Gulf Shores and the City of Orange Beach. Activities include many bicycle rides; guided tours; rope courses; workshops; beach and nature walks; a cookout and a BioBlitz, which is a community effort to document as many plant and animal species as possible in a set area. A dozen local and regional artists will be along the trails creating live paintings of the park.
