Local Nominations For “10best”

Alabama Beaches’ Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is nominated for the second consecutive year for USA Today’s “10Best Readers’ Choice” in the “Best Recreational Trail” award category. As part of this nationwide competition, the 28-plus-mile trail—spanning nine ecosystems through Gulf Shores, Gulf State Park and Orange Beach—is up against a lengthy list of national competitors. Online voting is open and ends at 11 a.m. on April 8. In addition to this nomination, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are both nominated in the “Best Small Town” and “Best Small Town Food Scene” categories, respectively, with the former also appearing in the “Best Coastal Small Town” category. The 10 nominees with the highest votes will be selected as the “10Best” in each category. Votes may be submitted once daily per device.
