Mobile County Breaks Ground On Lewis Landing Waterfront Park

The Mobile County Commission held a groundbreaking ceremony on May 14 for Lewis Landing, a nearly 2-acre public park on Three Mile Creek near Africatown. Located just north of downtown Mobile at 1365 Conception Street Road, Lewis Landing will feature a kayak launch, fishing piers, pavilions, green space and parking. It will be the first destination along the Africatown Blueway Connections trail. Mobile County previously used GOMESA funds to purchase the property for $40,000 in 2020. Construction is expected to take approximately six months. The contract was awarded to Harris Contracting Services, LLC for the low bid of just over $810,000. Stantec is providing design and engineering services.
