Mobile County Pedestrian/Bicycle Plan Workshop Announced

The South Alabama Regional Planning Commission (SARPC) is holding a virtual workshop for all in Mobile County on a comprehensive pedestrian and bicycle plan, the Mobile Metropolitan Planning Organization announced. Taking place on Zoom on November 2 at 11 am.-1 p.m., the workshop will introduce the proposed plan process, with highlights from the existing conditions analysis, previously received community input and countywide values and goals. A recording will be posted here. SARPC has also requested that residents provide feedback via a survey and interactive map. Feedback will help pinpoint opportunities and challenges associated with biking and pedestrian opportunities and help prioritize projects and workable solutions. SARPC’s master plan to improve pedestrian and bicycle experiences in the county aims to explore new ideas for envisioning a more connected transportation network. Once finished, it will drive funding recommendations and improvements for sidewalks, trails, bicycle lanes, a bicycle boulevard and other facilities, while identifying new features and amenities.
