Mobile Cuts Ribbon On Crawford-Murphy Park Playground

MOBILE, Ala. — The City of Mobile recently held a ribbon-cutting at the newly renovated playground at Crawford-Murphy Park, which is located at 351 South Ann Street. According to Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, in 2020, Deputy Public Works Director Shonnda Smith had the idea to bring in children from the community to get their input on the kind of playground they wanted to see in their neighborhood. The result is a treehouse playground with unique details, hidden surprises, a spiral tube slide and many other features. There is also a 75-foot SkyRun ZipLine. Struthers Recreation and landscape architect Christian Preus helped bring the children’s vision to life. Additional plans for Crawford-Murphy are to add pickleball courts and a splash pad.
