Mobile Opens Splash Pad At Laun Park

The City of Mobile recently celebrated the official opening of a new splash pad at Laun Park at 5401 Windmill Drive in Mobile. Designed by Christian Preus Landscape Architects, the splash pad incorporates nature throughout its design. Built by Iker Construction Co., the new splash pad replaced a small, underused wading pool at Laun Park. In addition to the new water feature, this District 4 Capital Project also included landscaping and aesthetic upgrades, as well as improvements to the outdoor restrooms. Overall, the project represents an investment of more than $320,000 into the popular park and community center. This will be the seventh splash pad at Mobile Parks and Recreation Department facilities, joining others at James Seals, Baumhauer-Randle, Tricentennial, McCants-Chavers, Medal of Honor and Public Safety Memorial parks.
