MPRD Reopens Newhouse Teen Center

The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department (MPRD) and Breakthrough Teen Mentors reopened the city’s only community center dedicated to local teens on September 3 with a special “Hump Day Hangout: Paint Edition” event hosted by MPRD’s Breakthrough Teen Mentors. Located at 2960 Alston Drive, the Newhouse Teen Center recently underwent renovations and added a gaming and entertainment area. More than just a fun destination, the center aims to provide academic, social and personal support for local teenagers. From help with homework and ACT preparation to mentorship programs and guest speakers, it aims to be a resource hub for teens.
