New Playground And Trail Open At Escatawpa Hollow

The new playground and newest walking trail at Wilmer’s Escatawpa Hollow Park & Campground recently opened. Features of the new playground include swing sets (three regular swings, one Americans with Disabilities Act chair swing and one tire swing), the “Dreamin’ Really Big Structure” (four slides, two rock walls, two cargo net climbers, three raised bridges, a 12-ft spider web climber and a telephone pole climber), the “Little Lumberjack Area” (two small slides, two bubble panels, two raised bridges and a tree-hugger climber), the “Fallen Tree Forest Climber” (an assortment of raised logs for climbing) and “Canopy Forest” (three rope bridges of various styles, one slide, a “Tree Hugger” climber and two raised platforms). The new playground is made of handcrafted white cedar wood and other materials. It was designed and manufactured by Bears Playgrounds. The trail is 8 ft wide by 840 ft long and made of crushed and compacted stone.
