OWA Completes Tropic Falls Expansion

OWA Parks & Resort in Foley has opened a $70-million expansion that includes a 30,000-ft2 outdoor wave pool, as well as a surf simulator, stage, restaurant and bar, Business Alabama reports. “Tropic Falls is currently the only indoor waterpark in the United States with both a retractable roof and sidewall adjoining an outdoor water park,” said Kristin Hellmich, director of external communications, Poarch Band of Creek Indians, which owns and operates Owa, a 14-acre theme park with 23 rides and attractions. “The Tropic Falls expansion has been more than three years in the making and is evidence of our continued commitment to seeing our vision through at OWA,” said Cody Williamson, president/CEO of the Creek Indian Enterprises Development Authority.
