OWA’s Wake Park Opens

OWA’s Wake Park Opens, part of its Gravity Island Watersports, opened last weekend with a celebration at the Foley complex. Wake Park uses an overhead cable more than 700 ft long with a carrier to pull riders by rope and handle to wakeboard, wakeskate, kneeboard, water ski or tube. The two-tower cable has obstacles in the water below. A team operated by local professional wakeboarder T.J. Allen and his wife, Caitlin, will provide hands-on training with the cable system to help newcomers “glide across the lake,” OWA said. Allen and his team will coach and give lessons, and certified lifeguards will be on hand. Gravity Island also offers Aqua Play, which consists of an inflatable obstacle course (Gravity Island Watersports Coming to OWA).
