Phase 1 Of Seawall Park At Perdido Pass Now Open

Phase 1 of the Seawall Park at Perdido Pass is now open, FOX 10 reports. Most of the park has been off limits since Hurricane Sally damaged it on September 16, 2020. Three years to the date of the storm, the city of Orange Beach reopened the south side to the public. Phase 1 is approximately a 300-ft expanse of walkway from The Gulf Restaurant north, toward the bridge. City officials said the repairs took so long because of permitting and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s reimbursement protocol. The next phase of construction will continue the boardwalk to the north, under the bridge, and with the addition of a third phase the city is funding, it will continue to the state docks, giving visitors more access than ever. The park is expected to be finished by December 1.
