Renovation Contract Awarded For Linksman Golf Course

After being closed for more than 15 years, the Linksman Golf Course in West Mobile is getting closer to reopening, FOX10 reports. Recently, Mobile County Commission officials awarded a $13.7-million contract to Mid-America Golf & Landscape to kickstart construction. This funding, sourced from district resources and American Rescue Plan Act money, will be used to upgrade fairways, tee boxes and greens. The revamped course will feature a designated practice area specifically for Mobile County students. Construction is set to begin as early as mid-April, with plans to open the driving range and practice facility by September. The new par-70 course is expected to open in summer or early fall 2025.
