Slashpad Opens At Crawford-Murphy Park In Mobile

The City of Mobile has cut the ribbon on its newest aquatic activity for children and families in the Oakleigh, Leinkauf and Maysville neighborhoods. The city has opened a new splashpad at Crawford-Murphy Park, offering families a new way to cool off from the heat, while providing more recreational opportunities at one of the city’s premier parks. Designed to resemble a river scene, the splashpad will include an alligator head, a frog, a turtle and tall reeds that spray water. Fish-shaped tipping buckets serve as the centerpiece of the design. Aiker Construction partnered with the city to transform an old, unused wading pool into the vibrant, whimsical, nature-themed spray ground. This is the ninth splashpad the city has added to Mobile Parks and Recreation Department facilities in the last several years.
