State’s First African-American Female Eagle Scout From Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. — The Boy Scouts of America Mobile Area Council recently recognized the state’s first African-American female Eagle Scout, according to the Mobile Chamber’s Business View Weekly. Jakayla Armstrong, of Troop 283 at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and a senior at Murphy High School, reached the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Armstrong’s community project involved building care packages at the Wilmer Hall Children’s Home, where she volunteered her time for three weeks.
