Stimpson Outlines Sporting Events’ Contribution To Economy

According to Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, Mobile Sports Authority (MSA) Executive Director Danny Corte recently gave city leaders good news. Between October 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021, MSA hosted 31 sporting events that included 18 different sports—everything from football to gymnastics to cycling to a national turkey-calling contest. Those events have had an estimated $22.4-million economic impact on our area. Adding to this will be LendingTree Bowl at the University of South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium on December 18.
