Tri The Gulf Sells Out

After a two-year hiatus due to Hurricane Nestor in 2019 and COVID-19 restrictions in 2020, the sixth-annual Tri the Gulf triathlon has sold out. The event is set for October 16 at 5-10 a.m. on Dauphin Island and features a 600-yd swim in Pelican Bay; a 16.7-mi. bicycle ride on the island and its bridge; and a 3.1-mi. run along adjacent streets, the island’s pedestrian trail along Bienville Boulevard and the fairway of the Isle Dauphine Golf Club. This “sprint triathlon” is the largest fundraiser for the Mobile Bar Foundation and has raised more than $330,000 in local charity funding since its inception in 2016.
