Two More On-Campus Football Stadium Bids Approved

The Mobile Board of Education unanimously approved bids from Mobile’s Ben M. Radcliff Contractor, Inc., for the building of on-campus stadiums at Davidson and B.C. Rain high schools, AL.com reported. These are the third and fourth stadiums contracted by MCPSS. Stadiums at Vigor and LeFlore high schools were approved in November (BBN #69). All four stadiums are expected to have turf fields. The B.C. Rain stadium will cost $5,547,229, while the Davidson stadium price tag is $5,531,771. MCPSS Director of Communications Rena Philips said the goal is to have the Vigor and LeFlore stadiums completed next August in time for the 2022 football season and to have the Davidson and B.C. Rain stadiums completed soon afterward. In May, the board unanimously approved the hiring of an architect to build five new stadiums. The final bid to be approved is at Williamson High School.
