UMS-Wright Hires New Track And Field Head Coach

Garrett Schumacher has been named the new head coach of the UMS-Wright Bulldog cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Schumacher was a member of the South Alabama Track team, on which he was a four-time Sun Belt All-Conference performer. He held the South Alabama record in the heptathlon until 2021 and was the record holder in the decathlon until 2023. He is a graduate of Spanish Fort High School. Schumacher is taking over for Pat Galle, who recently retired after 52 years. Schumacher has been the assistant coach in all of these programs for many years.
