Weeks Bay Pitcher Plant Bog Boardwalk, Parking Areas Being Refurbished

The Weeks Bay Pitcher Plant Bog boardwalk and parking areas in Fairhope have closed for renovation and are expected to reopen in summer 2024. The improvements will include rebuilding 2,000 linear ft of handicap-accessible boardwalk that traverses a unique carnivorous plant bog, along with improvements to the parking area to enhance visitor experience and accessibility. This project is funded through a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Procurement, Acquisition and Construction award and Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources State Lands Division matching funds.
