C Spire to Begin Fiber Construction

Work on Baldwin County’s first fiber broadband internet service should start within two weeks in Fairhope and Orange Beach, GulfCoastNewsToday.com reported. C Spire Fiber is to start construction on the Eastern Shore, what Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan called one of the fastest-growing areas in the U.S. “This fiber network is going to be a huge investment in our area and a huge economic driver for Baldwin County,” Sullivan added. The first homes and businesses should have service by the end of the year. The news follows the construction of a fiber network in Mobile County kicking off from the broadband division of Ridgeland, Mississippi-based C Spire Inc. in April (C Spire Bringing Fiber to Mobile County). In addition to the internet, C Spire will offer its “Smart WiFi powered by Plume,” “Home Protection Plan” and digital home phone service.
