Fairhope Public Utilities Offers Amea Scholarships

Fairhope Public Utilities has announced the availability of four scholarships for students graduating high school in spring 2024. The Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) and its member cities/utilities, including Fairhope, have made 44 $2,500 scholarships available statewide. To be eligible, a student’s parent or legal guardian must receive electric service from an AMEA member’s electric utility, and the student must attend a four-year college/university, community college or vocational/trade school within Alabama. Applications are available and may be submitted through February 12. Since 1992, AMEA has awarded more than $3.5 million in scholarship monies to graduating high school seniors who receive their electric service from AMEA members.
