Mobile County Recycling Center’s 10th Anniversary Includes Website

The Mobile County Recycling Center recognized its 10th anniversary this week by launching an updated website with new user-friendly features and additional information about recycling, in addition to providing commemorative reusable grocery bags to customers. The Mobile County Recycling Center at 7450 Hitt Road is a recycling dropoff location and processing facility open year-round. Established as a collaborative partnership between Mobile County and Goodwill Gulf Coast, the center was constructed by Mobile County and has been operated by Goodwill Gulf Coast since its opening. The facility also creates jobs for up to a dozen local residents, including individuals with disabilities. “Since opening in 2014, the Recycling Center has processed more than 25 million pounds of recyclable materials, including 2.3 million pounds this past year,” Frank Harkins, CEO of Goodwill Gulf Coast, said.
