Baldwin County Environmental Advisory Committee Awards

The Baldwin County Commission’s Environmental Advisory Committee recently presented 11 Environmental Stewardship Awards to people and entities for excellence. The Baldwin County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Conservative Ag Education Program was awarded in “Agriculture & Forestry.” The Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa in Point Clear was awarded in “Large Business,” and the Cooper Farm 4-H Program was awarded in “Small Business.” Jessica Sampley of the Gulf Shores High School Career Tech Program was awarded in “Educational Program,” and Tammy Grace was awarded in “Education Teacher.” The Little Lagoon Oyster Gardening Program won the “Environmental Organization” award, and the City of Foley’s Water Watch Steward Angie Eckman was awarded as “Government Employee.” The Pitmas, Turner and Milling families were honored as “Individual Citizens” for their donation of Titi Swamp land, and the Orange Beach Wildlife Center was honored as “Government Agency” for its wildlife rehabilitation and restoration work. Cade Kichler of the Lillian Recreational Park Wildlife Viewing Area was awarded for the “Environmental Stewardship Student Initiative,” and “Special Recognition” was given in memory of Andrew James for environmental stewardship.
