Master Gardeners Spring Festival Coming Up

The Mobile County Master Gardeners is hosting its Spring Festival on April 1 at 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Jon Archer Agricultural Center in Mobile, FOX10 reports. The goal is to help home gardeners rethink how much space they need to grow vegetables and keep them producing all year in containers and small spaces. The event is free, but thousands of dwarf vegetable plants in 4-inch pots and bags of caladium bulbs will be for sale. There will also be other vendors, food trucks and planting demonstrations. Those interested in becoming vendors or participating in the festival may email Carol Williams. Speakers include Jeremy Pickens on the 4,000 dwarf plants grown by the Auburn Ornamental Horticulture Research Station, Dr. Gary Bachman on nano farming, Rebecca Catalena on food preservation and Pepper Woolsey on edible forests.
