Eastern Shore Choral Society Concerts Announced

The Eastern Shore Choral Society is holding its annual Christmas Concerts in Daphne and Spanish Fort. The first will take place on December 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Center, and the second is on December 12 at 7:30 p.m at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church. Tickets are free for students and $20 for others and may be purchased online or at the door on the day of the concert. The event has a new artistic director, Dr. Laura Moore. Moore is chair of the music department at the University of South Alabama (USA), where she also serves as director of choral activities. She directs the Concert Choir and Chorale and teaches conducting and music history at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She received her doctorate in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Moore has served as president of the Alabama American Choral Directors Association and registrar for the Alabama chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). She is active as a collaborative pianist, having served as staff accompanist at regional Metropolitan Opera and NATS auditions, and performing in faculty and student recitals at USA.
