Gulf Coast Grooves Coming To Mobile

The City of Mobile’s Events Department will kick off the Gulf Coast Grooves concert series on May 30 with a free evening of live music, food trucks and local vendors in Downtown Mobile. The opening concert will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mardi Gras Park. Gates open at 5 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of reggae and rock. Reggae collective Easy Star All-Stars, known for reinterpretations of classic albums, will take the stage at 6:15 p.m. Letters to Cleo will headline the evening at 7:30 p.m. The Boston-based group rose to prominence in the 1990s with hits like “Here & Now” and “Awake” and is widely recognized for appearances on the soundtracks of films including 10 Things I Hate About You. The event will be emceed by local Levi Sims alongside DJ Blayze. The event will be held rain or shine. Tents, glass bottles and coolers are not permitted.
