MAC To Host The Temptations Mural Unveiling, Block Party

The Mobile Arts Council (MAC), in partnership with the Franklin family, has announced a community block party to unveil a new mural honoring The Temptations bass singer Melvin Franklin. The event will take place on May 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1410 at 509 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue. The mural pays tribute to Melvin Franklin’s enduring musical legacy and cultural impact. It was designed and painted by local artist John-David Swiger, who was personally selected by the Franklin family. The unveiling celebration will feature a family-friendly block party atmosphere, inviting the public to come together in recognition of Franklin’s contributions to music and to honor the collaborative spirit that brought the project to life.
