MMoA To Host Robinson On August 6

The Mobile Museum of Art (MMoA) has announced that its next Art After Dark will feature Aminah Robinson on August 6 at 6-9 p.m. at the museum. It will focus on the diverse narratives of Mobile through storytelling and memory-making. It will feature a hands-on workshop exploring the historic community of Africatown through a textile printing exercise. Participants will work with fabric scraps and embellish their pieces with buttons symbolizing the souls within the shared community. The event will highlight local Black-owned businesses and creatives. In the gallery, Power Line Poets will perform original spoken word pieces written in response to Robinson’s work. There will be a live jazz backdrop, a specialty “Storyteller Spritz” and other refreshments.
