Poetry Competition For Toulminville Library

MOBILE, Ala. — The Poetry SLAM-O-RAMA will be held at the Virginia Dillard Smith/Toulminville branch of the Mobile Public Library on April 30 at 2-5 p.m. The annual competition is for youths ages 8-19. Each contestant is asked to create their own poem, and each may present up to two. Participants will gather in the Meeting Room to present their work. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded in three age categories: 8-11, 12-14 and 15-19. First- and second-place winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of Mobile Bay and will have a professional photoshoot and their poems published.
