Public Art Kickoff Event Announced For Foley

CATalyst, the kickoff event for Cat Alley, a community effort to add more public art in Downtown Foley, create gathering places and promote connectivity, is taking place in Downtown Foley on April 28 beginning at noon. Internationally known artist ARCY will be painting an 8-ft x 12-ft mural in 4-6 h. at the Foley Art Center parking lot at 211 North McKenzie Street across from Heritage Park while attendees watch. Music will begin at noon, with DJ Tony Nelson sharing a mixture of music. Then, Roman Street takes the stage from 3-6 p.m. The SugarLove food truck will be present, and there will be beverages, craft beer, wine and Cat Alley merchandise. There are also many restaurants within walking distance. Money raised goes to support art in Downtown Foley. A percentage of the proceeds will also go to the Safe Harbor Animal Coalition. Attendance is free, but seating is limited, so organizer Foley Main Street asks attendees to bring chairs.
