USA Health Kicking Off Doc Rock

MOBILE, Ala. Five bands have been selected as finalists for the inaugural Doc Rock concert, to be hosted by USA Health at Soul Kitchen in Mobile on March 31. The bands selected to perform are Dr. John and the Burning Sensations, The Shotcallers, The Ayers Brothers Band, RL6 and Bearhead. To take part, at least one member of each band must have a connection with USA Health. The groups will compete in a Battle of the Bands-style competition. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite bands, and prizes will be awarded in four categories. The concert is a fundraiser to benefit research and critical clinical needs at University of South Alabama (USA) Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the Mitchell Cancer Institute and University Hospital. Organizers expect a crowd of 500 to attend the event, for which tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For more information or to become a sponsor, email contact Cristin Waite.
