New Horizons Awards Hi-Q Prizes

New Horizons Credit Union of Mobile, title sponsor of the Mobile County Public School System’s Hi-Q scholastic quiz bowl tournaments, recently awarded the Hi-Q Championship Trophy and $2,000 prize to Baker High School upon conclusion of the season’s final tournament. Baker’s Hi-Q team now advances to the Hi-Q National Finals to compete against other state Hi-Q teams. Additionally, Bryant High School’s team placed second and won $1,500, and Satsuma High School’s team placed third and won $1,000. All funds must be used for academic purposes. The competition saw 18 high schools vie for the prize. New Horizons also showcased its annual High School Scholarship Program, which awards five $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Winners of this program will be selected in April and announced in May.
