Smartbank Hires, Opens Mobile Location

Pigeon Forge, Tennesse-based SmartBank has expanded into the Mobile market by opening a branch on Dauphin Street and hiring wealth advisors Thomas Montz and Nathan Novotny and senior registered client associates Tina Moody and Johanne Carrol to be based at the branch, Business Alabama announced. Additionally, it hired wealth advisor Amanda Montz and senior registered client associate Missha Waldrip to be based at its Fairhope branch. Thomas Montz brings 30 years of financial services experience and was previously with BBVA Investment Services. A Southeastern Louisiana University graduate, he will be responsible for assessing client circumstances and providing individualized, strategic investment counseling. Amanda Montz joins the company with 18 years of financial industry experience. She was also previously with BBVA Compass Investment Solutions and will focus on guiding clients through life financial stages using a goal-based process. Novotny is licensed in life, health and annuity insurance. He maintains Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and is a graduate of the University of West Florida. SmartBank entered the Alabama market in 2017 when it acquired Tuscaloosa-based Capstone Bank. Since, it has grown from having nine to 14 branches.
