Innovation Portal Names Program Cohort, Launches Meeting

Mobile’s Innovation Portal has announced that its inaugural Portal Fund: RISE Cohort has been selected. The following founders and their companies have been selected to participate in the program: Lindsey Coker of STEAMCamp for Kids, Mandee Conkle of Do Some Good Mobile!, Morgan Crawford of Next Level Moxie, Tempey Hamilton of Phases of Self-Ascension and LaKeisha Spencer of Title Docx. The program began yesterday and will see these participants develop their business ideas alongside each other, the Innovation Portal staff, and other mentors over the next 10 weeks. At the end of the program, the participants will receive $5,000 checks to support the start of their businesses.

Innovation Portal has also announced its first Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) meeting at its headquarters in Mobile for those in Mobile or Baldwin counties who are looking to start or are already running an EOS. The EOS Networking Resource Group (ENRG) is intended to help participants learn more from fellow business professionals on how to take advantage of a business operating system it says “can transform your organization.” ENRG is not a sales group or a leads group. It is focused on EOS and requires that participants’ primary criteria are an interest in EOS and that they have read or are reading the book Traction. Members are classified according to their status of “Entertaining EOS,” “Growing with EOS,” “Newly Implementing EOS” and “Regularly Using EOS.” The meeting on June 7 at 8:30-9:30 a.m. is to gauge interest in starting an ENRG chapter in Mobile of the current group that meets in Baldwin County.
