Local Teachers Acknowledged At Military Luncheon

TheMobile Chamber and its Military Affairs Committee honored retired, current and future military leaders during its 36th Annual Military Appreciation Lunch held at the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park this week. The keynote speaker was Robert Kennedy Jr., chief executive officer of theBoys & Girls Club of South Alabama. The program paid tribute to the impact military personnel have on the local business community and included several awards for each branch of the military and recognized outstanding ROTC and JROTC cadets. Additionally, two local teachers were named the Air Force Association Teachers of the Year: For middle school, Alesha Spencer fromDenton Magnet School of Technology and Michael Fletcher fromDavidson High School received the awards due to their successes in robotics.
