BCEDA Wins Three Excellence Awards

The Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance (BCEDA) recently won three International Economic Development Council Excellence in Economic Development Awards in the 200,000-500,000 population size range. BCEDA received a Gold Award in “Special Events” for the Novelis Procurement Event, which allowed local leaders the opportunity to work with Novelis on its $2.5-billion project. It received a Bronze Award for “Best Use of Federal Economic Development Resources” for the $2.5-million grant the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration awarded the City of Fairhope to support renovations at the Fairhope K-1 Center. Finally, BCEDA was awarded a Bronze Award for “Economic Development Organization of the Year” for a variety of economic development projects composed of initiatives and programming to support the community.
