BGCSA Names CEO

The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama (BGCSA) has announced the appointment of Jermaine West as its new CEO. West first joined the organization in 2002 as a club director. Over the years, he has held various leadership positions, including area director; director of teen services; director of operations; and, most recently, interim CEO. He led the launch of the Job Ready Program, spearheaded Alabama’s first Guitars Not Guns Program and founded the Ignite Summer Leadership Camp. Under his leadership, the organization earned five State Youth of the Year honors and achieved significant membership growth across multiple club sites. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Major General J. Cooper Leadership Award, Alabama Employee of the Year, Boys & Girls Clubs Full-Time Employee of the Year, Man & Youth Award, and Program Excellence Award. In his new role, West is to expand opportunities for children and youth; strengthen community partnerships; and ensure every child has access to a safe environment, caring mentors and life-changing experiences.
