Boys & Girls Club Names State Youth Of The Year

The Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama recently announced that Ryan M. is its 2023 Youth of the Year. Ryan joined the club’s Bernard Malkove Branch in Mobile in summer 2017. He credits Pamela Thompson, Bernard Malkove’s teen coordinator, for her guidance and listening ear and Jermaine West, director of teen services, for being a role model and making him a better young man. Ryan traveled to Montgomery to compete in the Alabama Youth of the Year competition, which he won, and will be honored at the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama Youth of the Year Luncheon on May 25 at 11:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel (Boys & Girls Club Youth Of The Year Luncheon Announced). Ryan received a $10,000 scholarship and will move on to compete at the regional level.
