Love Your Community Teams Receive $9,000 In Grants

Six Love Your Community teams each received a $1,500 grant from the Mobile County Commission for their litter-reduction work in Mobile County during the third-annual Love Your Community Earth Day Celebration and Volunteer Appreciation Event on April 20 in Mobile. The following volunteer teams were awarded the grants for planned beautification projects: Loving Litter Clean Up; Litter Ladies; Kasondra Ervin Fox; the Riley Brenes Family; Infinite Opportunities; and the Coast Guard and Aviation Training Center, donated to Vets Recovery. In addition to the grant presentations, the event included hands-on recycled art activities for children by the Mobile Museum of Art, electric vehicles by Drive Electric Alabama, storytime from the Mobile Public Library, live music, vendors, lawn games and food trucks.
