Alabama Coastal Area Management Program Opens RFPs

The Alabama Coastal Area Management Program has opened requests for proposals (RFPs) until March 18 at 5 p.m. The funding opportunity is for the following coastal projects: nonpoint pollution-control planning, general planning, education and outreach, and public access improvements. Projects are to be completed in Mobile and Baldwin counties for fiscal year 2023 (October 1, 2022-September 30, 2023). The competitive funding opportunity uses federal funds provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) pursuant to the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972. Proposals will be given priority consideration if addressing specific areas of the Alabama Coastal Nonpoint Pollution Control Program. Funding requires a 1:1 ratio of non-federal matching funds. The preferred funding amount is $20,000-$50,000 in federal funds. It is anticipated that funds will be available on October 1 for selected entities for a period not to exceed 12 months.
