MBNEP’s Eastern Shore Wmp Out For Public Comment

The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program (MBNEP) has announced that the Eastern Shore Watershed Management Plan (WMP) is currently out for public comment. The draft is available for public review and comment. The goals of the planning are to improve water quality and habitats, protect continued customary uses of biological resources, improve watershed resilience and expand opportunities for community access. MBNEP now has more than 15 published WMPs useful to resource managers, local municipalities, nonprofits and others to identify specific and achievable measures to restore, protect, conserve and preserve features of the watershed. These WMPs have led to more than $40 million in funding and projects in Mobile and Baldwin counties in the last decade. For more information on the WMPs, contact the following at email: Christian Miller or Roberta Swann.
