Second Snapper Season Starts Today

Due to anglers not catching the federal quota over the 63-day summer season, red snapper charter season is set to begin again on October 15 and run through November 5, WKRG reports. NOAA Fisheries is reopening the season to provide Gulf for-hire fishermen the opportunity to catch the remaining allocation. Additionally, recreational red snapper season remains open. OBA adds that the season for recreational anglers is still open on Fridays through Mondays and is expected to stay open for a few more weeks with a two-fish limit.
