AGC Mobile Section Presents Safety Awards At Annual Event

The AGC (Associated General Contractors) Mobile Section recognized members who maintained an excellent safety record throughout 2023 at its 22nd Annual Alabama AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards on April 2 at the Country Club of Mobile. More than 130 members were in attendance as 34 of the Mobile area’s leading commercial, industrial and specialty contractors and suppliers received awards. Additionally, Chris Wiley of H. O. Weaver & Sons, Inc., was recognized for outstanding leadership in the field of safety for his role in enhancing the company’s safety culture and for giving his coworkers solutions and guidance to keep them safe every day. The guest speaker for the event was Occupational Safety and Health Administration Mobile Area Director Jose Gonzalez, who commended the contractors and suppliers for their outstanding safety performance. This local program is an ongoing effort by the Mobile Section to recognize members in the Mobile area who have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss-prevention programs through management commitment, employee training and program innovation.
